The Writers
The Ignition Blog is affiliated with Kids of Faith Online Newsletter, and is managed by a few of the contributors.
Kylie
Ignition’s Senior Editor & Contributing Writer
Hey! My name is Kylie. I’m completely in love with Jesus and I have a strong desire for others to feel His love as well.
I’m a self-declared bookish person, and I love literature. Writing is a huge part of my life, and I take pleasure in using it for God’s glory. It’s my dream to have one of my novels published someday. When not working on Kids of Faith or Ignition, I enjoy writing and developing my set of three fantasy novels, or writing short stories on various topics. I immensely enjoy being homeschooled because
that gives me the time and flexibility to write. I also devour books; some of my favorite authors include C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Janette Oke.
I have a very active imagination, which can be both a gift and a problem. I love the pioneer, colonial, and renaissance eras, and bonnets, aprons, and medieval dresses & capes all have a place in my world. I enjoy creating things; whether it is crafts, graphics or worlds of my own that spring from my imagination. I also love music, and enjoy writing songs when the inspiration strikes. I hope to grow in my knowledge of how to play the guitar so I can set the words to music and express my adoration for God through song.
Although my road as a Christian is tough sometimes, it is He alone that keeps me going. It amazes me that He loves me when I am not and can never be worthy of it. I’m definitely not perfect, and I rely on His grace to catch me when I fall and fail.
My articles are not mine; they are God’s, and I hope & pray that He will use them for His glory.

Because of HIM,

Catey
Ignition’s Assistant Editor & Contributing Writer
My name is Catey, a young lady with a rather unusual heart and mind. I have been homeschooled since the second grade, and I still love all things school-related, and I adore my family (Dad, Mom, two little sisters and two little brothers). You may recognize my sister Jocelyn (Jocelberry) as the contributing artist for Ignition.
My passion is in writing, because that’s how I express my irrational love for God. You can find my irrationally loving writings contained in my seven novels (some finished, some less than such), or my articles, poetry, devotionals, and shorts, which are published in several venues, including the sister site of Ignition, Kids of Faith. You can also read my devotionals in the book Devos 2 Go, and my short stories on the Patrick Henry College site, where my fourth-place contest entry is placed. My favorite authors include, but are not limited to the following: J.R.R. Tolkien, Ted Dekker, Madeleine L’Engle, Margaret Peterson Haddix, A.W. Tozer, and C.S. Lewis. I hope to express the same kind of joyful devotion to God in the same kind of eloquence as these authors.
Speaking is also a large part of my life. I am the Community Ambassador for my local Institute for Cultural Communicators (formerly Communicators for Christ) chapter and I am also going to be involved in the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA- a Christian competitive speech and debate league) in the coming year. For me, writing and speaking go hand in hand, and both are influential in my life.
In the rare case I’m not writing, you’ll probably find me speaking or organizing something for my Institute for Cultural Communicators chapter, singing harmony, playing with one or all of my siblings or my Sparks group at church, playing Mah Jongg, braiding my own or my sister’s hair, writing lesson plans, speaking or singing Tolkien’s brilliant Elvish language, cooking something with a lot of onions, Interping, or talking philosophy, theology, and extemporaneous topics with phenomenally large words. Or you can check out my personal site at: www.sparksofillumination.blogspot.com.

Jocelberry
Contributing Artist
Hi! My name is Jocelyn, but to the blogworld, I’m Jocelberry.
I am a twelve-year-old artist, musician, lover of God and homeschooled student. I’m the second daughter of five kids (my older sister Catey is the assistant editor for Ignition) and I love them very much (and my parents too!) I became a Christian when I was seven and it’s been a great adventure.
With love,

Alyssa
Challenge Writer
Well, today is an absolutely amazing day, because today you get to meet me! Hey, I’m Alyssa, and I can’t wait to tell you a little bit about me!
I live in Colorado with my parents and brother. My mom has been home schooling my brother and I for 12 years, with five more years to go. I’m in seventh grade and my favorite subjects are creative writing and music.
As you’ve probably guessed, since I’m a contributor, I’m a writer. I love to write! I’ve been writing since I was ten. You might recognize Catey as one of contributors. She is the one who has really inspired me to write. I enjoy writing poetry and fiction the most. I’m not sure where I will go with my writing yet all I know is that I love writing, and I believe God will use it for His glory.
But I’m not just a writer. I’m also a speaker. I work with the Institute for Cultural Communicators (ICC). I speak on platforms every month and get to communicate throughout the state about God, and other important messages.
I’m also a performer. I play the piano, sing and act.
I love all of these forms of art and hope that I can use them more and more as the years go by.
I love living in Colorado and writing, speaking, and performing are some of my favorite things to do. I hope this help you to know me better.

Ashley
Challenge Writer
Hi. My name is Ashley. I am a fifteen year old, homeschooled (oh, and I’m proud of it!!!!) Christian girl who loves the Lord, and tries to glorify Him in everything that I do.
I LOVE to read, and have ever since I was little. A few of my favorite authors are Janette Oke, Melody Carlson and Beverly Lewis.
I started writing stories when I was 10 years old, and have loved doing it ever since. I enjoy writing teen Christian fiction, and of course articles of Kids of Faith.
I love to sing, and listen to music, and I have ever since I was a little kid. I also enjoy writing songs, with my friends, Samantha and Amanda.
I live with Mom, Dad, Gracie and Ian, in a small rural town in Pennsylvania, and have lived in my same house all my life.
I have recently become a fan of Walt Disney, because I went to Walt Disney World in the beginning of January 2009. I think that he was a wonderful man, and had very good intentions for his parks, all set up for kids and families. I plan on doing an essay of him this school year.
